Re: Anyone own/shot a Taurus PT-145 Pro???
I dont own the PT-145 but I do own a PT 24/7 Pro in .45 ACP and I love it never had a problem with it and the trigger pull is like silk. I would totally recommended the 24/7 Pro C if you're looking for a compact pistol.

As long as you don't live in California you can get one of these babies. What I've heard is nothing but great things about the Taurus 1911. It comes with a lot of custom features at a very reasonable price.
Here's an example of one for $599: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=110085118 EDIT - Here's a one that's not SS for $539 buy it now price http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=109918520 http://san1.atlanta.gbhinc.com/GB/11...x225536687.jpg |
Re: Anyone own/shot a Taurus PT-145 Pro???
In short - I bought one because of the attractive price. I regretted it. -- not to mention its kinda good lookin.
http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...ft-full-hi.jpg As stated... The trigger is lowgrade plastic (you can actually flex it) and has the worst pull of any pistol I've ever fired. It was however pretty accurate and performed well for a time. after about 3 months and about 800 rounds the slide froze up on me. I was shooting "quality brass cased American made" target ammo... I could not get the slide back within my own power. - I had to let oil run down the inside of the rail and kinda soak in before I could get it back. It was not due to lack of maintaining the weapon as I keep my guns clean and lubed. What had happened is that there was a burr in the steel part that the slide rides on. It was cutting into the inside of the slide- creating a gouge and shavings. I ground out the burr and smoothed out the mess that it had made and got it to cycle again - but the action was noticeably rough. Cleaned it real good and traded it in on a G30 and never looked back.. The funny thing is on the trade in, I expected the gun shop rep to notice how screwed up the gun was... They didnt even strip it- just commented on how well cleaned I had kept it:D shhhhh say not a word. I took $275 for it on the trade.:applause_ Don't buy that POS - as they say YMMV - and mine sucked. Too bad I bought it in spite of all the bad reviews that I read in researching my purchase. I could have saved myself the headache if I had just went w/ the G30 at the time. I'm WAY over 2000 rounds w/ that pistol and it works great. |
Re: Anyone own/shot a Taurus PT-145 Pro???
JJ, you got $275 in trade for your Millennium Pro? :applause_
Well done, sir! There is no way in hell I would be so lucky, even from the shop where I bought it from. I probably could unload it for that in a private sale, but I don't do private sales with handguns, for a little cash you could possibly be buying a whole bunch of trouble. |
Re: Anyone own/shot a Taurus PT-145 Pro???
Thanks AG-
If they had only stripped it - I'm afraid I would have lost about a hundred bucks... Seems to me this speaks volumes about keeping a weapon well cleaned. |
Re: Anyone own/shot a Taurus PT-145 Pro???
